Description

Day 1: Johannesburg to Livingstone, Victoria Falls

On arrival at Livingstone, you will be met by a Bushtracks Africa Guide for the 30 minute transfer to Tongabezi Lodge.

After lunch and check in, you are invited to join us on a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River.

Dinner Book a meal (or two) in The Lookout. Fabulous design, gorgeous views, shore bound exclusivity and absolute comfort.

Our friendly team welcomes guests to a selection of houses and cottages, each beautifully styled with furniture and embellishments from all over Africa.

Guests can dine beside the river or on their private terrace. Privately owned and run, Tongabezi combines an exclusive ambience with the legendary warmth and hospitality of the people of Zambia.

Since our inception we have understood that a journey can act like truth serum. For a finite space in time the traveler is buffered against what is taken for granted and is able to experience enlightenment, beauty and Technicolor dreams.

Go ahead and expect the delightfully unexpected from the moment you open your eyes in the morning. A stunning sunrise, a playful baby rhino, a bubble bath awaiting your return courtesy of your valet…

Spaces

The Lookout and Hangout were conceived as the ultimate chill out zones perched overlooking the Zambezi River. You can book your lunch or dinner at either venue, or on our Dining Deck complete with fire pits and exotic lanterns. There is also The Pool set against a rocky outcrop and a lounger bed set among the treetops overlooking the Zambezi River drifting slowly by.

Houses & Cottages

Our five houses and four river cottages are each individually styled, with their own character, and catering for two to five guests. Experience private romance at the Honeymoon House, wake up among the trees in the Tree House, or enjoy a romantic dinner from your own private deck overlooking the Zambezi River from one of our River Cottages.
